This is what you can expect while I redesign my newsletter

Hi there, and thanks for being here. I mean it. It is readers like you that have allowed me to be where I am now: writing about children — a segment of the population that is too often overlooked.

Yes, children make up a quarter of the world’s population, yet their views are not represented properly, especially in media, and especially those of the youngest children.

This is where The First 1,000 Days comes in.

In 2019, I launched it as a beat (an area of coverage) for The Correspondent, a short-lived international publication which was funded by its readers. You can still find all I wrote over here.

When The Correspondent shut down in the middle of the pandemic, in December 2020, it was readers once again that helped me continue my work though my own independent website.

I am redesigning my newsletter and I will start sending regular newsletters again soon. In the meantime, you can find the archives of everything I wrote here.
